Splav Gabbiano Wedding
Noémie and Marko are two soulmates that met in Paris, the city of romance. What a place to meet the love of your life!
Life has that tendency to surprise us, to take us down interesting and unexplored paths. Results are often better than anything we could’ve ever imagined. Their path, now, brought them to the White City for their Belgrade wedding.
The wedding day
The day started in the Maison Royale Hotel. Everyone got their suits, dresses, and smiles on and headed out for a walk down the famous Knez Mihajlova street. It was beautiful to see how the love of our couple spread to the people we walked by and all the smiles that surrounded us. As wedding photographers, we have this unique privilege to observe love and good energy as we get to be a part of it all. We are very thankful for this.
We headed for Kalemegdan, a beautiful old Jerusalem-like fortress that is located at the end of Knez Mihajlova. With some luck and skill, the sun was our best friend that day. It let us play with the light and shadow of all the tunnels, rustic buildings, ramparts, and secret little corners waiting to be found. The color of the old Kalemegdan brick contrasting it’s nature, and the multitude of other small details made the fortress a paradise for us as photographers.
The ceremony took place in a breathtaking little church called Ruzica at the foot of the hill on which the fort lays. No matter how many times you witness these beautiful old church ceremonies, it always feels like time travel.
After the church we made our way to splav Gabbiano, a delightful restaurant that sits on the Danube. The wedding organization agency Samo Kazi Da helped organize and decorate. This is where the story of this Belgrade wedding and all the emotions came to a climax. Just before the celebration, the pair took a boat ride on the Danube. We took some amazing photos, drank champagne, enjoyed the sights of Belgrade, and then slowly made our way back to the splav Gabbiano. The river seemed to be celebrating with us, which just made everything even more beautiful. The whole evening was peaceful and elegant, yet joyous and full of life! It was a celebration of love and fate that put these two people together.
